NOC Engineer (Network Operations Center Engineer)

The NOC Engineer is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the IT/Telecom infrastructure that supports project operations. This can include site networks, communication systems, and security systems. They are the first line of defense against IT disruptions, ensuring high network availability and performance for the project team.
Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor the project's network and telecom systems 24/7, identifying and diagnosing faults.
• Respond to network incidents and alerts, following established procedures to restore service quickly.
• Perform routine network maintenance, including software updates and configuration backups.
• Liaise with third-party vendors and service providers to resolve complex issues.
• Document all incidents, actions taken, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
• Implement and monitor network security measures to protect project data.
• Assist in the setup and configuration of new network equipment and user accounts.
• Provide technical support to project personnel for network and communication issues.
• Generate regular reports on network performance and availability.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a network operations center or similar IT support role.
• Professional certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls, routers, and switches.
• Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG).
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
