We are now looking for an experienced Ethernet switch software support engineer for our Enterprise Experience team. This individual will have a proven grasp of network engineering and Linux, who also can triage customer network issues, resolve customer problems and maintain phenomenal customer relationships. This highly technical Enterprise Technical Support Engineer will not only be providing critical support to our enterprise customers, they will also have the chance to create improvements and tools for Ethernet switch systems including Mellanox Spectrum, Cumulus Linux, SONIC, Mellanox Onyx, and potentially other Enterprise related network software.

What you'll be doing:
Work with our Enterprise customers and internal users to improve the availability, reliability, and overall experience of working with our enterprise technologies
Own and drive customer issues with Ethernet switches from inception to resolution
Actively work with customers and develop internal relationships that use our's internal expertise
Bring independent analysis, communication, and problem-solving to customer experience
Collaborate with engineering to document, recreate and solve issues
Author and incorporate technical solutions into our knowledge base
Develop software tools to support Enterprise Service offerings including, but not limited to Ethernet Switch software systems such as Cumulus Linux, SONIC and Onyx
Regular on call shifts - including weekends and holidays - will be required on a rotational basis, based on your schedule and availability
Required Skills:
Networking knowledge - CCNP level knowledge
Network fundamentals - IP subnetting, DHCP, DNS, ipv6, ARP, bridging, layer 1 troubleshooting, bonding with LACP
L3 technologies - general routing - BGP, OSPF, route redistribution
Overlay technologies - notably VxLAN is a plus
Linux knowledge - RHCSA / LPIC-1 level knowledge
Comfort with the bash command line
Basic system administration skills - service manipulation, file(system) management, package management
Debian/Ubuntu exposure a plus
Proven problem solving / technical troubleshooting
Professional communication fluency in English, both verbal and written
3+ Years of experience in the related roles
Preferred Skills:
Background with Open Network products such as Mellanox switches, Cumulus Linux, Mellanox Onyx, or SONIC network operating systems
Experience as a networking support escalation team member for large enterprise/service provider customers at a company that produces network devices such as switches and routers
Linux and Networking Certifications such as CCONP, CCIE, RHCE
Experience developing with C, and contributions to networking related open source projects such as Free Range Routing (FRR)
