Responsibilities
Responsible for the research and development of existing and new wireless technologies used to optimize and maintain DOD, commercial and corporate and networks. Which include the design, configuration, implementation, testing and troubleshooting of Wireless and LAN components and networks.
Working with 3rd party and internal departments in integrating wireless equipment with current WAN and security infrastructure.
Optimizing wireless performance while fulfilling security requirements for user/device authentication, encryption, and intrusion detection, i.e. 802.1x RADIUS Authentication using EAP-TLS.
Responsible for installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and modification of wireless network hardware and software. Which include:
Network Switches - Aruba, Cisco, Brocade (Ruckus)
Aruba / Cisco WAN architecture in both indoor and outdoor environments
Outdoor Point to point and Mesh Architectures
Aruba Central / ClearPass/ Airwave management
Aruba 8.x Mobility Environment
Configuration and testing of QoS for voice & video, VLANS, ACLs, GRE tunnels, VRRP, etc.
802.1x RADIUS authentication using EAP-TLS
Indoor and outdoor Site Surveys
Provides tier 3 support with LAN/WLAN networks, and client devices, including hand-held devices and associated LAN and WAN connectivity.
Responsible for documentation of installed networks, including systems design, operations, and implementations guides, Visio design drawings, etc.
Maintains the security and integrity of all wireless hardware and software.

Required Experience/Qualifications
Engineers will be assisting in the development of project plans, designs and documentation for future sites as well as providing technical reach back to deployed installation teams.
Education: Bachelor\'s Degree, or a AS/AA or two-year Tech School with 8 years of experience; or HS/GED with 10 years of experience; or a BA in a relevant technical area with 5 years of experience.
A minimum of 8 years of experience in wireless and network communications industry is required
Security + / DoD 8140 certification level IAT-I (must have within 3 months of hire)
Aruba Certified Mobility Expert v8.x (ACMX) or Aruba Certified Design Expert (ACDX)
Aruba Certified Switch Professional (ACSP)
Familiarity with Ekahau Survey analysis software or equivalent
Proficiency with Aruba\'s Airwave management platform
Knowledge of Windows Server 200x OS platforms; to include DNS & DHCP functions.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Visio.
Must be able to multi-task, required to provide daily status/updates to supervisors/ managers
Candidate must be a self-starter and possess the ability to identify all subtasks, prioritize work, and determine the tools / material required to accomplish their assigned task within the allotted time.
Candidate must have strong problem-solving, as well as the ability to interact well with both internal and external engineers, technicians, and customers.
