Maintains contacts and SLAs with ISPs in all communication links.
Installs and maintains branches/departments/units/ATMs WAN communication links.
Reads technical manuals and brochures to determine equipment which meets business requirements.
Monitors WAN data/voice communication links to maintain a standard level of service’s quality.
Makes budget recommendations in relating to communication solutions to Department Head.
Retains high uptime for WAN communication links, not less than 98%.
Reports WAN communication links downtime once discovered to other network team members and MIT as well.
Logs calls with ISPs to report WAN communication links downtime and/or poor link’s quality and following up very closely till the problem is resolved.
Maintains a downtime sheet for all WAN communication links and logs all incidents to apply penalty on ISPs based on SLAs.
Establishes and implements network policies, procedures and standards, ensuring conformance with information systems and objectives.
Develops and writes procedures for installation, use and solving problems of communications hardware and software.
Assists in the installation of communications hardware and performs minor equipment repairs.
Performs or assists in troubleshooting and diagnosing network problems and corrects identified problems.
Assists in network vulnerability assessments and ongoing security risk assessments including the monitoring, investigation and reporting of security and access violations trade-off studies to recommend methods on countering threats to network.
Performs hardware and software installations for the new network equipment.
Records and maintains network hardware and software inventories.
Maintains confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed, and become familiar with ITD policies, services, and staff.
Provide first level support and work closely with other team members in IT projects that need network /hardware installation and configuration.
Provides on-the-job training to new ITD staff members and computer orientation to new Bank staff.
Requirements
From 1 to 3 years of experience in Network Communication Technology and Network Administration.
A College degree or Diploma and/or equivalent experience.
Experience with banking industry systems is desirable, but not mandatory.
Good team player with the ability to work very effectively in a collaborative and team-oriented manner with other teams. Must have initiative and a positive work attitude and must be a quick learner with a zeal for self-learning. Must be confident, eager and willing to take on new challenges. Must be cooperative with good interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Working experience with wide and local area networks including experience with common-carrier data networks.
Extensive experience of TCP/IP protocol, network troubleshooting, network design, routing protocols, and network security.
Ability to document complex technical issues effectively summarizing issues for a range of technical and business management.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Fluent in oral and written English.
