VAM Systems is a Business Consulting, IT Solutions and Services company. VAM Systems is currently looking for Network Engineer for our Bahrain operations with the following skillsets and terms & conditions: MAIN OBJECTIVES The primary role of the Network Engineer is to ensure the smooth operation of the organizations data and voice network in order to provide maximum performance and availability for the system users. The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, installing, maintaining and supporting LAN, WLAN, WAN and VoIP infrastructures, creates and maintains network documentation, maintains hardware and software standards, and works projects as needed. The Network Engineer must be well versed with the advanced engineering and administration of multiprotocol and various network devices as switches, network firewalls, intrusion prevention system, LAN/WAN load balancer, back office and contact centre telephony system, voice recorder, AWS, Cloud network and monitoring tools. EXPERIENCE . Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in an IT environment . Experience of managing heterogeneous network on large systems. . Experience of working in a team that delivers a high availability service. . Strong IP Telephony skills including contact centre and back-office call manager, call recording, MPLS/GMPLS and SIP technology. . Proven skill in analysing, designing, supporting and troubleshooting fibre optic and twisted pair networks using Cisco modular and fixed configuration switches such as Cisco core, distribution, access switches, data centre switches such as NEXUS, next generation Firewalls, IPS, F5 Access policy manager and local traffic manager, etc. . High skills in routing techniques and configuration of Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, other network devices and load balancers. . Updated with new technologies and cloud networking such as AWS EDUCATION & TRAINING . Minimum Bsc in Communication and computer engineering or other equivalent IT studies. . IT Network Certifications like but not limited to Cisco routing and switching and security (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE) F5 BIG-IP Administrator, AWS certified solutions architect associate or any other IT specific certification is an advantage. . Highest proficiency in both written and oral English language. Arabic language is an added advantage. . In-depth knowledge of LAN/WLAN/WAN communications, network hardware such as routers, Ethernet switches, wireless, load balancers, UTM devices, gateways, firewalls, etc. . A thorough understanding of the OSI network mode, Ethernet, and TCP/IP networking and subnetting. . Strong knowledge of IP routing OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, WAN, VSS, SDN, HSRP, VRRP, IPsec and SSLVPN technologies. . Strong knowledge of firewall policies, NAT rules, Load balancer and IPS . In-depth knowledge of LAN switching, VLANs, LAN and WAN management, layer 2 and layer 3 switching . A practical level of experience implementing and administrating common TCP/IP * based services, including but not limited to DNS, NHCP, HTTP, FTP, SSH, SMTP, etc. MAIN DUTIES . Provide daily operational support ensuring smooth operation of data and voice network in order to provide maximum performance and availability for the system users . Maintain and update the network infrastructure, troubleshoots problems related to network infrastructure and make corrective actions when necessary. . Design, install, maintain and support LAN, WLAN, WAN, VHF and VoIP infrastructures. . Make recommendation for new technology in support for improved and more efficient operations . Provide risk assessment of current and new technology and develops mitigation strategies for those risks . Perform quarter health check and make recommendations for improvement. . Monitor network traffic proactively to identify and make capacity planning recommendations with the help of the available monitoring tools . Integrate and schematically depicts communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signal links and protocols into complete network configurations. . Ensure that all technologies are in line with strategic IT direction and plans. . Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access for all required compliances such as PCI-DSS. . Support and administer firewall environments in line with IT security policy. . liaise with project management teams, third-line engineers and data centre service desk on a regular basis.
