The Network Engineer will support the customer with updates, maintenance, and implementation of networking equipment configurations for the EADGE-T system. Additionally, thie network engineer will assist and support the customer with monitoring the status of the overall EADGE-T system and the network using WebNMS/Junos Space and other network management tools.
The Network Engineer requires an individual with a keen interest in how things work and be motivated by creating solutions for challenging problems. A logical and careful approach to analysing requirements, creating appropriate designs and developing implementation solutions, as well as an understanding of the role of test in ensuring delivery of mature products are required traits of Engineers at Lockheed Martin.
Responsibilities:
Maintenance of network systems, including but not limited to LAN, WAN and Data Centre networking, VoIP, Firewalls, and Wireless services
Support of day-to-day system management tasks, including proactive network monitoring
Assist with gathering of requirements, design, estimate, coordinate with vendors, etc. for assigned projects
Support continued service improvement, and maintenance tasks to ensure network devices are compliant with security requirements
Required skills, qualifications and experience
Degree in a STEM subject, preferably Network Engineering, Computer Science or Software Engineering but all STEM degrees will be considered
Knowledge of TCP/IP Network fundamentals
Ability to work well in a team environment
Ability to prioritise tasks and manage own time to meet program needs
Problem determination & resolution
Desired Skills
Industry & vendor Certifications (CCNA, Cisco, JNCIS/JNCIP.)
Good understanding of network protocols such as BGP, OSPF, SIP, IPSec and 802.1x or similar
Experience with Juniper JUNOS, encryptor and firewall solutions
Good IT skills in a range of SW packages would be an advantage
Knowledge\\experience Suite-B encryption and firewall security rules
