Reports To: QSA Engineer Direct Reportees: None

Job Summary and Purpose

An operational expert and technician for Quality Control (QC), particularly in relation to technical material & weld integrity. Responsible for assuring that materials, structural components and systems perform their function in a reliable quality and cost-effective manner by executing nondestructive tests that locate and characterize material conditions and flaws that might otherwise cause failure or undesirable quality variability (Nondestructive Testing NDT). Also, responsible for determining quantitative material properties, such as hardness and other physical characteristics or defect such as its size, shape, and orientation (Nondestructive Evaluation NDE).

Accountabilities

Key Accountabilities: 1. Assist Engineers in ensuring that the job is completed in accordance with the client & class requirements. 2. Ensure that calibrated equipment is used for testing. MSDS of chemical, valid calibration certificates and approved applicable procedure are available during test. 3. Ensure that previous activities have been completed, surface preparation of items are fulfilled the requirement. 4. Carry out NDT (Ultrasonic Test, Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement, Magnetic particle Test & Penetrant Test as per the project requirements. 5. If any findings after inspection, submit the preliminary report to Production Engineer. NDT Report shall be prepared and submit QSA Engineer. 6. Arrange the Client/TPI/Surveyor when witness is specified in approved ITP or instruction of QSA Engineer. 7. Demonstrates an attitude of flexibility, and willingness to be a team player in working at any time, to meet the on-call nature of the work. 8. Effective and optimal use of both NDT technologies and the most basic NDT method of visual examination.

Qualifications, Experience and Job Skills

Qualifications: . Minimum American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT)/ Personnel Certification in Non-Destructive Testing (PCN) Level II in UT, MT & PT . Additional certification courses related to the field would be an advantage such as, RTFI, PAUT, TOFD and Welding Inspection. Experience: . At least 5 years' experience in relevant position and field. Job Specific Competencies: Generic 1. NKOM-Core Values 2. Commitment to Health, Safety and Environment 3. Magnetic Particle Testing (Level II) / Personnel Certification in Non-Destructive Testing (PCN) or equivalent) 4. Ultrasonic Testing (Level II)/ Personnel Certification in Non-Destructive Testing (PCN) or equivalent) 5. Personnel Certification in Non-Destructive Testing (PCN) 3.1 / 3.2 / 3.8 / 3.9 Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Level II 6. Knowledge of materials and welding technology 7. Integrated Management System (IMS) Awareness 8. Knowledge of new construction and repair of marine and offshore equipment/structures 9. Able to understand the Inspection Test Plan (ITP) 10. Able to understand the client/class requirements & refer the necessary rules for inspection.
