Job Description

Synopsis

To undertake navigation related technical and commercial studies, deliver fuel savings and provide Navigation related information to the Flight Crew, this may contain Escape procedures, performance-based navigation profiles and assessing aerodromes for suitability.

Accountabilities

Responsible for Driftdown and Depressurization escape procedure design.
Ensures that all charting requirements are met to support the network, in terms of customization and availability.
Conducts fuel and payload studies for future destinations. Provides fuel value assessments for finance to determine annual fuel budgets.
Performs acceptance and verification of Flight Management System (FMS) Navigation Databases. Performs technical assessments for destinations and alternates.
Assess RNP and RNP AR approach procedures for further SIM-validation. Participates in Simulator sessions for validating specialised navigation procedures.
Produces technical information relevant to destination airports or areas of operation (e. g Airport Briefs, Area Briefs, NDC etc.)
Monitors and notifies to relevant departments information affecting EGPWS Terrain Database.
Verifies and approves the EFB loads related to Terminal Charts, Enroute Charts and Airport Moving Map.
Monitoring of Reduced Vertical Separation Minima (RVSM) compliance.
Monitoring and maintenance of Foreign Regulatory Approvals required for the operation including but not limited to Low Visibility Operations approvals

Education & Experience

Educated to a minimum of high school certification.
University Degree in Engineering is preferable.
Minimum 5 years in a Flight Operations division of an airline, preferably in the Navigation Department.
Previous Flight Planning experience would be an advantage.
