NAVAL INSTRUCTOR - WEAPONS ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (Sonar Technician) Grade: 6 Location: Dhahran, Saudi Arabia JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Naval Forces ships and train RSNF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their ships and equipment. The post holder will be responsible for delivering Naval Specialist Training (NST) at the Technical Institute for Naval Studies (TINS), located in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dammam. Specifically, the post holder will be responsible for training the Royal Saudi Naval Force (RSNF) student's in serviceability, readiness and accuracy of systems associated with the operation and maintenance of Sonar systems for their Sonar Technician (ST). Preparing them to help maintain, diagnose and repair complex sensors guaranteeing they are fully operational. The post holder will also deliver basic electrical and electronic theory and practical skill training using the FACET training system. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES The post holder is responsible for: . Delivering Naval Specialty Training curriculum (including relevant elements of Basic Skills Training), and, in particular, Sonar Technician specific elements. . Supporting invigilation activities for assessments. . Supporting remedial training activities. . Writing assessment materials. . Supporting the continuous improvement of courseware materials and media. . Writing student reports as required to meet customer requirements. . The post holder will ensure the completion of any other reasonable request by their line manager, which aligns with Company business. . The post holder will be expected to operate to a standard of absolute integrity and professionalism. . Complete BAE SDT mandatory training. RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION Essential The post holder must: Have a minimum of IELTS 5.0 for non-native English language speakers. Be a graduate of an advanced military trade school or an industry equivalent. Have proven experience performing the role of Weapons Engineer Technician or equivalent. Desirable The post holder should: Have recent instructional experience. Have successfully completed an approved / accredited Instructional Techniques course.
