Job Description

The Move-In/Move-Out Inspector is responsible for inspecting residential or commercial units before tenant occupancy and after vacating, ensuring properties meet company standards, and accurately documenting the condition of each unit. This role supports the leasing and property management teams in maintaining asset quality and enhancing tenant satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Move-In Inspections:

Conduct thorough inspections before tenant occupancy to ensure units are clean, functional, and fully ready.

Verify that fixtures, appliances, and utilities are in working order.

Use detailed checklists and photographs to document unit conditions

Identify and report any deficiencies for prompt resolution.

Assist with tenant handovers, including key issuance and orientation.

Move-Out Inspections:

Perform detailed inspections after the tenant vacates to assess condition, damages, and missing items.

Compare the current state of the unit to the original move-in report.

Document findings using time-stamped photos and standardized reports.

Reporting & Records:

Maintain accurate and organized digital/physical records of inspections

Submit timely reports to the Move-In/Move-Out Manager

Ensure all processes align with company policies and lease agreements.

Tenant & Department Liaison:

Communicate inspection results professionally to tenants when required. Coordinate with leasing, maintenance, and cleaning teams to ensure timely turnover of units. Support leasing activities by confirming unit readiness for new tenants.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree is a plus). 3-5 years of experience in property inspections, leasing support, or facilities management. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Good understanding of basic property systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC). Proficient in MS Office; experience with property management software (e.g., Yardi, Buildium) preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
