Our Client, a Leading Insurance company is looking to hire a Motor Underwriting Officer to join their team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This opportunity will provide the successful candidate to be involved in all underwriting activities to ensure client satisfaction, through effective and timely processing of new, endorsement, and renewal business.

This opportunity will provide the successful candidate to be involved in all underwriting activities to ensure client satisfaction, through effective and timely processing of new, endorsement, and renewal business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Good knowledge of operational systems, work-flow processes, and policies in support of client service expectations, continuous improvement, and overall efficiency.
- Expert knowledge in the use of the Policy Administration system (Premia) for all policy transactions to effectively drive accuracy and process efficiency.
- Expert knowledge of unified policy wording and all relevant policy clauses for individual and commercial motor.
- A full understanding of reinsurance products and involvement in operations specifically those available to existing motor treaties, as well as the necessary process for facultative cession.
- An expert knowledge of restrictions in underwriting guidelines.
- Expert knowledge of the broker distribution channels, the various tools utilized by the broker and the process interaction between insurer and broker.
- Lead the assigned underwriting activities to meet or exceed expectations on process turnaround time for inspection reviews, new business, renewals, and endorsement transactions.
- Assist in preparing new motor quotations and renewal quotations for corporate clients.
- Study the risk; analyze the data, collect information to proceed with risk acceptance and rejection.
- Selecting appropriate and competitive premiums based on possible risk, information and judgement.
- Ensure that premiums are competitive and specify conditions to be imposed on different types of policies.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation and delivery of certificates, policies and endorsements in compliance with the prescribed policies and guidelines of the company.
- Negotiate and define the specific terms of insurance policies with policyholders or brokers.
- Keep detailed and accurate records of policies underwritten and decisions made.
- Accountable for the ongoing Underwriting file audit process and reporting of summary results.
- Assist with the development, implementation and communication of corporate goals and objectives to support the business plan.
- Identifies and promotes suggestions to improve processes and quality of service and can lead in the implementation of these improvements.
- Supports and leads, where required, the development and implementation of process improvements to promote increased quality of service.
- Supports, where required, the resolution of consumer and/or broker complaints.
- Assure timely service to assigned clients and client satisfaction.
Requirements
- Proven insurance underwriting experience, ideally within the UAE motor sector.
- Excellent knowledge of insurance policies and ability to relate policy provisions to the loss exposures.
- Preferably holder of insurance certificates (i.e. CII or similar).
- Able to make quick decisions, good judgment, and analytical skills.
- Strong written, verbal communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong communication skills at an individual and group level.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback to improve individual and group performance and provide the necessary development to the Underwriting Supervisory team.
- Ability to lead product and technical training to internal staff and external broker/agent partners.
- Ability to clearly communicate the organization\'s positioning on issues to internal and external partners.
- Excels at working under pressure and multi-tasking.
- Significant strength in prioritizing competing priorities
