Read and interpret
technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols
.
Set up welding equipment, select proper materials, and adjust machine settings for optimal performance.
Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions as required.
Use measuring tools to ensure accurate dimensions and tolerances.
Conduct post-weld clean-up using grinders, wire brushes, or other finishing tools.
Inspect welds for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications.
Perform basic fabrication tasks including cutting, drilling, and fitting components.
Follow all
safety procedures
and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Work as part of a team to meet production targets and deadlines.
Report any defects, non-conformities, or equipment issues to the supervisor.
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years' experience as a
MIG welder
, preferably in a steel fabrication setting.
Solid understanding of
MIG welding techniques, tools, and equipment
.
Ability to read and work from
engineering drawings and blueprints
.
Experience with
fabrication tools
such as cutting torches, grinders, and measuring instruments.
