Position :

Microbiologist

Job Location :

Tecom, Dubai

Job Summary:

The Microbiologist will conduct laboratory research, testing, and analysis of microorganisms (bacteria, viruses, fungi, etc.) to support healthcare. Responsibilities include sample processing, culture preparation, data interpretation, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Laboratory Testing:

Perform microbiological assays (e.g., Gram staining, PCR, ELISA, antimicrobial susceptibility testing).

Isolate, identify, and characterize microorganisms using biochemical, molecular, and microscopic techniques. Maintain and monitor microbial cultures and cell lines.
2. Data Analysis & Reporting:

Record, analyze, and interpret test results using statistical software or laboratory databases. Prepare detailed reports and present findings to stakeholders. Ensure accuracy and compliance with protocols (e.g., ISO, CLIA,).
3. Quality Control & Safety:

Follow strict aseptic techniques and biosafety protocols (BSL-1/2/3). Maintain laboratory equipment (autoclaves, centrifuges, incubators etc) and ensure the calibrations. Participate in internal audits and regulatory inspections.
4. Research & Development (if applicable):

Design and execute experiments to study microbial behavior, antibiotic resistance, or product efficacy. Contribute to scientific publications, patents, or grant proposals.
5. Collaboration:

Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., clinicians, epidemiologists, quality assurance). Train junior staff or interns on laboratory procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education: Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in Microbiology, Medical Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related field.

Experience:

[X] years in a clinical, industrial, or research lab setting (specify if specialized, e.g., food/water microbiology).

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in [list techniques: e.g., MALDI-TOF, sequencing, flow cytometry]. Familiarity with lab software (e.g., LIMS, BioNumerics).

Certifications (Preferred):

ASCP, NRCM, or other relevant certifications.

Soft Skills:

Attention to detail, problem-solving, teamwork, and time management.
