This position is responsible for creating and coordinating strategic communications for HR – internally such as employee and business messages, and externally inclusive of media responses. The role will lead the development of divisional and project communication plans in addition to leveraging and enhancing new and existing communication channels with a creative vision to advance HR strategies and initiatives.
This role is required to regularly create executive level and employee communications, including workforce messages, internal and external speaking notes, presentations, video scripts, community posts e.g., Yammer, change collateral, and draft contributions to corporate communications. This role will represent the division in organisational and business forums to ensure that HR communications needs are being met and that there is a consistency of voice/tone/style for all HR messaging
Accountabilities
  • Develop the strategic communications plan to rollout and continuously reinforce the HR vision/mission and principles of the Etihad employee experience, and ensure the achievement of the plan’s objectives
  • Develop communication approaches and plans for HR programmes and initiatives
  • Lead the annual development of an integrated internal engagement and communications strategy to support and reinforce workforce culture initiatives
  • Create and maintain a HR Communications Playbook, aligned to internal branding and style guides, to support the creation of HR messages and ensure a consistent voice/tone/style for communications as aligned to employee personas
  • Lead the development of leadership and strategic communication content for internal newsletters, corporate and divisional collateral, and other materials for and on behalf of the leadership team
  • Lead the preparation and editing of speeches, presentations, quotes, talking points or scripts for events – internal and external, as well as collateral such as videos, blogs, and social media
  • Act as a trusted advisor working in partnership with HR leaders and stakeholders to integrate messages and recommend approaches in support of broader divisional and business priorities
  • Build relationships with communication partners such as Corporate Communications and business communication champions to effectively delivery timely and relevant communications
Other:
  • Maintain and enhance the HR presence on all corporate channels such as the intranet and Yammer
  • Support communication, branding and editing needs for HR platforms such as the HR knowledge library and HR systems
  • Support ad hoc business needs from stakeholders in relation to external social media requirements
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English Literature, Journalism, Creative Writing, or a related field
  • Minimum of 8 years in a communications, journalism, or similar role
  • Exceptionally strong ability to communicate in English, both in writing and verbally with excellent editing skills. Arabic would be considered an added advantage
  • Experience working with senior executives and business leaders to develop strategic, project and operational communication plans and messages
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful communication campaigns including the ability to convert complex subjects into easy-to-understand communications for local and international workforces through a variety of channels
  • Excellent project management, time management skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively
