MEP Technician
Job Title: MEP Technician (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing)
Department: Maintenance / Facilities
Reporting To: MEP Manager / Chief Engineer
Job Purpose:
To provide multi-skilled support in the maintenance and repair of a building's core systems, with a focus on two or more of the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on a variety of MEP systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with electrical circuits, lighting, power distribution, and motor controls.
• Maintain and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, water heaters, and drainage systems.
• Support the maintenance of mechanical systems such as HVAC units, pumps, fans, and air handling units (AHUs).
• Respond to and resolve tenant service requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist specialized technicians (e.g., HVAC, Electrician) with larger repairs and installations.
• Read and interpret MEP drawings and manuals.
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with relevant codes and safety standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Formal training or certification in at least one MEP trade (electrical, mechanical, or plumbing).
• Proven experience as a maintenance technician in a commercial or industrial setting with exposure to MEP systems.

Skills and Competencies:

• Broad technical knowledge across multiple trades.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to different systems and technologies.
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.

Working Conditions:

• Work varies daily and can involve tasks in any part of a building.
• May be required to be on-call for after-hours emergencies.
