MEP SUPERVISOR
Job Title: MEP Supervisor (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing Supervisor)
Department: Maintenance / Engineering
Reports To: Chief Engineer / Operations Manager
Job Summary:
The MEP Supervisor is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the entire MEP department. This includes planning, directing, and coordinating the activities of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing technicians to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of all building systems.
Key Responsibilities:

• Department Leadership: Manage, schedule, and mentor a team of multi-skilled MEP technicians, electricians, and HVAC specialists.
• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all MEP assets to maximize uptime and lifespan.
• Budget & Cost Control: Manage the department's operating budget, control labor and material costs, and approve purchases.
• Vendor Management: Source, negotiate with, and manage third-party contractors for specialized services and major projects.
• Compliance & Safety: Serve as the primary authority on ensuring all MEP work complies with national codes (NEC, UPC), local regulations, and OSHA standards. Foster a culture of safety.
• Technical Expertise: Provide ultimate technical guidance and support for complex, cross-disciplinary system failures and projects.
• Reporting & Analysis: Report to senior management on key performance indicators (KPIs), including equipment reliability, maintenance backlog, and departmental productivity.
• Project Management: Oversee and manage small to medium-sized installation and renovation projects from conception to completion.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field is highly preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in MEP maintenance, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Comprehensive knowledge of all MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, fire alarm, plumbing, and building automation systems (BAS).
• Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost control.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Proficiency in CMMS and building management software.
