Job Description

The MEP Procurement Engineer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, equipment, and services related to the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) scope of construction projects. The role ensures cost efficiency, timely delivery, and compliance with project specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify material, equipment, and service requirements for MEP-related project scopes. Develop and implement procurement schedules in line with project timelines. Evaluate technical and commercial specifications to ensure alignment with project needs. Identify and prequalify vendors and suppliers for MEP materials and equipment. Build and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers and subcontractors. Ensure vendors meet project quality standards and delivery timelines. Obtain and evaluate quotations, negotiate terms, and prepare comparative statements. Ensure procurement is within the approved budget while maximizing cost efficiency. Monitor market trends and prices for cost control opportunities. Prepare purchase orders and contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies. Coordinate with legal and finance teams to finalize vendor agreements. Monitor contract terms to ensure adherence by all parties. Collaborate with MEP engineers, designers, and project managers to clarify technical requirements. Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites. Address and resolve any issues related to procurement and delivery delays. Ensure all procured items meet project specifications, standards, and codes. Conduct inspections and verifications of materials and equipment upon delivery. Maintain detailed records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and invoices. Provide regular updates and reports on procurement progress to the management team.

Qualifications and Experience and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related field. 8-10 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the construction or MEP industry.

Technical Skills:

Strong understanding of MEP systems and materials. Proficiency in procurement management software and tools (e.g., ERP systems). Knowledge of construction project workflows and material specifications.

Strong negotiation and communication skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
