Planning Engineer - MEP



MEP Planning Engineer : Duties and Responsibilities



Project Planning and Scheduling



Develop detailed project schedules for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works using software like Primavera P6 or MS Project. Coast loading Recourse Loading Define project scope, milestones, and deliverables in alignment with client and project requirements. Integrate MEP schedules with the overall project master schedule. Preparing the programs and updating the same

Resource Allocation



Determine and allocate required resources (manpower, materials, and equipment) for MEP activities. Monitor resource usage and ensure efficient utilization to avoid delays.

Progress Monitoring and Reporting



Track and report progress against the baseline schedule, highlighting potential risks and delays. Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for stakeholders. Develop recovery plans for delayed activities.

Coordination and Communication



Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure timely execution of MEP activities. Liaise with design, procurement, and site execution teams to resolve scheduling conflicts.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation



Identify potential risks and their impact on the project timeline. Implement mitigation strategies to ensure project timelines are maintained.

Cost and Budget Analysis



Analyze project costs related to MEP works and ensure alignment with budget forecasts. Assist in preparing cost-loaded schedules for financial tracking.

Compliance and Quality Assurance



Ensure that MEP activities comply with project specifications, standards, and local regulations. Conduct site inspections to verify progress and quality adherence.

Document Management



Maintain and update project documentation, including schedules, logs, and progress records. Prepare Extension of Time (EOT) claims and delay analysis when required.

MEP Planning Engineer :Requirements



Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering (or a related field). Minimum 5 - 8 years of experience in MEP planning in construction, infrastructure, or related industries. Proficiency in planning and scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and related software. Knowledge of MEP systems, processes, and execution. Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies. Excellent communication and coordination skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. PMP (Project Management Professional) or PMI-SP (Scheduling Professional). Certified in Primavera P6 or other relevant software. Knowledge of FIDIC or contract management principles. Knowledge of Standards and Codes Familiarity with local and international MEP codes, standards, and safety regulations.
