The Lead of Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for representing in communications with the Client, cross functional discipline engineers and clients on assigned projects. technically assess mechanical designs (HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, electrical etc) accordance with strategy and procedures, contract specifications, approved design, national and international codes of practice.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Managed the MEP design of projects from the concept to the construction stage.
Tracked the project work plan and distributed work among the design and supervision teams.
Managed hours and budget to ensure the project is delivered on schedule at the highest quality.
Ensured all mechanical design is in line with the local authorities (DM, DCD, DDA)
Ensured that appropriate alternative concepts are proposed at the concept and schematic design stages and that these have been tested and value-engineered, and those they comply with project and Code requirements.
Reviewed design and Construction drawings and calculations for HVAC, Plumbing, Firefighting and electrical etc all other MEP systems to ensure all project requirements were satisfied.
Performing engineering evaluations, value engineering, feasibility studies, concept design, final design, cost estimates and preliminary engineering calculations.
Attended meetings with clients to discuss their requests and presented potential solutions.
Anticipated and solved technical problems in the project Design and Construction stage and, provided cost-effective solutions.
Prepared tender documents, specifications and BOQs review.
Conducted meeting with contractors regarding site RFIs
Having capacity to Supervise construction works including material submittals review.
Preparation of complete design for All MEP services including HVAC, Plumbing, Water Supply, electrical, LPG, Fire Fighting.
Preparation of space requirement and providing electrical power requirements for Mechanical equipment.
Submissions to relevant authorities such as DEWA, DDA, SEWA, EMPOWER, DCD, EMICOOL, etc.
Capability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Team player and ability to work individually.
Excellent computer knowledge (MS-office, Auto CAD, Revit, Carrier HAP, etc)
Exposure to Client with good communication skills
Other Tasks and Responsibilities as determined by Technical Director or Internal stake holders
