Key Responsibilities

Review and analyze tender documents, drawings, and specifications for MEP scope of works. Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Conduct quantity take-offs for MEP materials, equipment, and systems. Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate quotations from vendors and subcontractors. Ensure compliance of estimates with project specifications, standards, and client requirements. Prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities), cost comparisons, and value engineering proposals. Assist in tender clarifications, technical queries, and post-tender negotiations. Prepare and submit technical and commercial bid documents within deadlines. Coordinate with project, procurement, and design teams during pre- and post-tender stages. Update and maintain historical cost databases for reference in future projects. Support project managers in budget preparation and cost control during project execution.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent. 3-8 years of experience in MEP estimation within construction/contracting companies. Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire-fighting systems. Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and estimation software (e.g., CCS Candy, Planswift). Familiarity with international standards and codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, SMACNA, etc.). Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Ability to work under pressure and meet tender deadlines.
