We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimation Engineer (MEP) with a strong background in design, site execution, and estimation of MEP systems (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Drainage). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with consultants and ensuring full compliance with UAE authority regulations (DEWA, DCD, DM, ADDC, etc.).
This role requires a well-rounded professional who can interpret design documents, coordinate with stakeholders, and prepare precise cost estimations for tender submissions and design-build projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimation & Tendering
Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs for MEP systems.
Conduct detailed quantity take-offs for HVAC, electrical, drainage, firefighting and plumbing systems.
Prepare competitive cost estimates and technical/commercial proposals for tender submissions.
Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations and ensure cost efficiency.
Design & Engineering Coordination
Coordinate with consultants to review and validate MEP designs.
Ensure compliance with applicable UAE authority standards and regulations (DEWA, DCD, DM, SEWA, ADDC, etc.).
Recommend value engineering alternatives to optimize costs and enhance performance.
Integrate design feedback from site conditions and consultant/client discussions.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure all designs and estimation outputs comply with UAE regulatory standards.
Prepare necessary documentation required for authority submissions and approvals.
Site & Execution Insight
Leverage prior site experience to ensure estimates are realistic and executable.
Provide support in resolving site-level technical issues related to MEP works.
Assess constructability of proposed MEP systems based on real-world constraints.
Internal Coordination & Reporting
Collaborate with project, design, and procurement teams to clarify scope and specifications.
Participate in pre-tender meetings, site visits, and client/consultant briefings.
Maintain cost databases, vendor lists, and material benchmarks.
Prepare detailed estimation reports, cost summaries, and risk analyses for management.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
. Electrical Engineering preferred
Minimum 6-12 years of experience in MEP estimation, with at least 3 years in the UAE.
Proven experience in MEP design and site execution.
In-depth knowledge of HVAC design, electrical load calculations, plumbing layouts, and drainage systems.
Solid understanding of UAE authority regulations and submission procedures.
Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, estimation software (e.g., CCS Candy, PlanSwift), and preferably Revit or BIM tools.
Strong commercial awareness and ability to assess technical and financial project risks.
