Job Title

MEP Estimation & Design Engineer (Contracting - UAE)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced

MEP Estimation and Design Engineer

with a strong background in

UAE contracting projects

. The ideal candidate will be responsible for

MEP design coordination, tender estimation, cost control, and technical support

from tender stage through project execution, ensuring compliance with

UAE codes, client specifications, and authority requirements

.

Key Responsibilities

Estimation & Tendering

Prepare

detailed MEP cost estimates

(Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) for

tender and pre-tender stages

Review

tender drawings, specifications, BOQs, and addendums

Perform

quantity take-offs

using AutoCAD/Revit and estimation software Prepare

cost comparisons, value engineering proposals, and clarifications

Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain

competitive quotations

Participate in

tender negotiations and post-tender clarifications

Prepare

method statements and technical submissions

as required

MEP Design & Engineering

Develop and review

MEP design calculations and drawings

Ensure compliance with

UAE authorities and international standards

such as: DEWA / ADDC / SEWA Dubai Municipality Civil Defense Estidama / Al Sa'fat ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, BS, ISO Coordinate with

architectural, structural, and other disciplines

Review

consultant designs

and suggest

constructability improvements

Prepare

shop drawings, material submittals, and technical data sheets

Project Support & Execution

Provide technical support during

construction and commissioning stages

Assist in

procurement planning and cost control

Coordinate with site teams for

design clarifications and modifications

Monitor

variations, claims, and change orders

Support

authority inspections and approvals

Ensure MEP works comply with

contractual, quality, and safety requirements

Coordination & Communication

Liaise with

clients, consultants, authorities, suppliers, and subcontractors

Attend

technical meetings and coordination meetings

Support

project managers and commercial teams

Qualifications & Experience

Education

Bachelor's Degree in

Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Building Services Engineering

Experience

7-12+ years

of relevant experience in

MEP contracting companies in the UAE

Proven experience in

high-rise buildings, commercial, residential, hospitality, and mixed-use projects

Strong background in both

estimation and design

for MEP works
Technical Skills

Excellent knowledge of

UAE MEP codes, standards, and authority approval processes

Proficient in:

AutoCAD

Revit MEP (preferred)

MS Excel (advanced estimation sheets)

Estimation software (e.g., PlanSwift, CostX - advantage)

Strong understanding of: HVAC systems Power & lighting Fire fighting & fire alarm Plumbing & drainage ELV systems (CCTV, access control, BMS - advantage)
