Job Summary
The MEP Draftsman is responsible for preparing accurate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings in line with project requirements, design intent, and applicable standards. The role supports engineers, project managers, and site teams throughout design, coordination, and execution phases.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare MEP drawings including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and electrical systems
Develop detailed shop drawings based on design intent, specifications, and site conditions
Coordinate drawings with architectural, structural, and other engineering disciplines
Revise drawings based on comments from consultants, clients, and authorities
Prepare as-built drawings upon project completion
Ensure drawings comply with local codes, standards, and project requirements
Assist in material take-offs and basic quantity calculations when required
Support site teams by providing drawing clarifications and updates
Maintain organized drawing registers and document control
Qualifications & Skills
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering (or related field)
2-5 years of experience as an MEP Draftsman
Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit MEP is an advantage
Strong understanding of MEP systems, detailing, and coordination
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Good communication and teamwork skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred Experience
Experience in commercial, residential, or fit-out projects
Familiarity with authority submission requirements and approvals
