Overview:

The MEP Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed drawings for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems based on project specifications, engineering calculations, and site requirements. The role involves developing coordination drawings, updating revisions, and supporting the engineering and site teams with accurate and timely technical drawings.

Key Responsibilities:1. Drafting & Design Support

Prepare MEP shop drawings, coordination drawings, as-built drawings, and IFC drawing updates. Develop detailed layouts for HVAC, Electrical, Firefighting, Drainage, Water Supply, and other MEP services. Ensure drawings are prepared according to project specifications, standards, and authority regulations.

2. Coordination

Coordinate with MEP engineers, architects, structural team, and other disciplines for clash-free drawings. Incorporate consultants' comments, site modifications, and engineering revisions into updated drawings. Attend coordination meetings as required.

3. Documentation

Maintain drawing logs, revision histories, and documentation records. Ensure timely submission of drawings for approvals as per project schedule. Prepare as-built drawings based on site redlines and final installation.

4. Compliance & Standards

Ensure compliance with local authority regulations (DEWA, DM, DCD, ADDC, SEWA, etc.). Follow international codes and drafting standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, NEC, BS). Maintain drawing accuracy, clarity, and readability.

5. Technical Support

Provide support to site teams by issuing details, sections, and sketches as required. Conduct site surveys when needed for preparing accurate drawings. Assist in preparing quantity take-offs or BOQs (optional depending on project).

Qualifications & Experience:

Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or Drafting Technology. Minimum

3-5 years of experience

as an MEP Draftsman in construction projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory; Revit MEP experience is an advantage. Experience in high-rise, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong understanding of MEP systems and technical drawings. AutoCAD expertise with fast and accurate drafting skills. Knowledge of MEP coordination and services routing. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Additional Requirements (Optional to Add):

UAE experience preferred. Familiarity with authority submission formats. Ability to prepare 3D models (if using Revit).

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
