Job Summary:
We are hiring a skilled and detail-oriented MEP Draftsman to prepare coordinated shop drawings and as-built layouts for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AutoCAD and relevant MEP software, ensuring precise and clash-free design documentation in line with project specifications and authority standards.
Key Responsibilities: Drafting & Design
Prepare accurate and detailed shop drawings for HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, and electrical systems.
Create as-built drawings, schematics, and coordination drawings based on design input.
Incorporate redline markups from engineers and site teams into updated drawings.
Ensure compliance with project specifications, authority regulations, and industry standards.
Coordination & Collaboration
Work closely with MEP engineers, architects, and other discipline draftsmen to resolve clash issues and ensure coordinated layouts.
Participate in coordination meetings and implement design changes as required.
Provide technical support to site teams by issuing updated drawings and responding to drawing-related queries.
Documentation & Submission
Maintain drawing logs, transmittals, and revision control for all MEP-related drawings.
Prepare submission packages for consultant/authority approvals (DEWA, DM, Civil Defense, etc.).
Ensure that all drawings and documents are delivered on time and aligned with project schedules.
Requirements:
Diploma or ITI in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Drafting.
3-5 years of experience in MEP drafting, preferably in the GCC region.
Proficient in AutoCAD (knowledge of Revit MEP, Navisworks, or BIM tools is a plus).
Strong understanding of HVAC, firefighting, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Familiar with international and local authority standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, DEWA, DM, ADDC, ADCD etc.).
