We are seeking a skilled

MEP Draftsman

with approximately

5 years of solid experience

to join our engineering/design team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will produce accurate, high-quality mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings, be able to coordinate with various disciplines, ensure compliance with local and international standards, and support successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed MEP shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings using AutoCAD, Revit (or similar CAD/BIM tools). Develop layouts for HVAC systems (ductwork, air handling units, diffusers etc.), plumbing (water supply, drainage, storm water), fire protection systems and electrical systems (lighting, power, ELV etc.). Conduct clash detection (using tools like Navisworks or Revit) between all MEP systems and with architectural/structural elements, propose solutions and assist in resolving them. Ensure drawings comply with Dubai municipal and regulatory standards (e.g., Dubai Municipality, Civil Defence, DEWA, etc.), as well as international codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, etc.). Generate and modify Revit families and components per project requirements. Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, schedules, design notes, material take-offs. Work closely with engineers, architects, interior designers, contractors to ensure coordination and design integration. Maintain drawing libraries, adhere to company CAD/BIM standards, layer naming, file management, version control. Support submittal process: prepare drawing packages for approvals, respond to comments, revise drawings as required. Attend site surveys (if needed) to verify existing conditions and ensure drawings are as-built accurate.
Qualifications & Skills

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent drafting certification). ~5 years of experience as an MEP Draftsman; experience in UAE or GCC is a plus. Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD; high proficiency in Revit (Revit MEP) is highly preferred. Experience with BIM workflows, clash detection, coordination of models. Good understanding of MEP systems: HVAC, plumbing, fire safety, electrical. Familiarity with Dubai / UAE local authority regulations and codes. Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings. Strong attention to detail, accuracy in drawings, and ability to produce high-quality deliverables under time constraints. Good communication skills, ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams. Good organizational skills; managing multiple tasks/projects at once.
Additional / Desirable

Experience in specific sectors like luxury villas, high-rise towers, commercial or retail fit-out. Knowledge of additional software/tools (e.g. Navisworks, BIM 360, Bluebeam, 3D modelling). Previous exposure to 3D visualizations or rendering (nice to have). Experience preparing drawings for permitting/submission to authorities.
