Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled MEP Draftsman to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems using CAD/BIM software. The role involves collaborating with engineers and architects to ensure designs meet project specifications, codes, and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Drafting & Design:

Prepare 2D & 3D MEP drawings (HVAC, electrical, firefighting, plumbing, etc.) using AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or similar software. Convert hand sketches, markups, and design concepts into precise technical drawings. Ensure compliance with industry standards (ASHRAE, NEC, IPC, etc.) and local regulations.
2. Coordination & Collaboration:

Work closely with MEP engineers, architects, and contractors to resolve design clashes. Assist in BIM coordination for clash detection and model updates. Update drawings based on revisions and site feedback.
3. Documentation & Quality Control:

Maintain organized drawing files and documentation. Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project requirements. Generate shop drawings, as-built drawings, and schematics.
4. Site Support:

Occasionally visit construction sites to verify measurements and resolve design issues. Assist in preparing BOQs (Bills of Quantities) and material schedules.

Qualifications & Skills:

Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or related field. 2+ years in MEP drafting (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or fire protection systems). Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, or BIM tools. Knowledge of MEP systems design and construction practices. Familiarity with ISO, ANSI, or BS drafting standards. Attention to detail, time management, and teamwork. Ability to interpret engineering sketches and specifications. Certification in AutoCAD/Revit MEP. Experience in BIM Level 2 projects. Knowledge of Duct/Pipe sizing tools (e.g., McQuay Duct Sizer, Pipe-Flo)
