MEP Coordinator - Construction
Location: UAE (Specific emirate/city to be confirmed)
Experience: 6-8 Years (in MEP coordination)
Priority: Candidates with prior UAE experience will be highly preferred.
About the Role:
We are urgently seeking a highly skilled and proactive MEP Coordinator to join our dynamic construction team. The successful candidate will be the central point for all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) activities on-site, ensuring seamless coordination, flawless execution, and strict adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and safety regulations. This is a critical, hands-on role requiring strong technical knowledge and exceptional coordination abilities.
Key Responsibilities:

• Site Coordination & Execution: Lead the day-to-day coordination of all MEP works on the construction site. Ensure all MEP installations are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Drawings & Technical Management: Review and coordinate MEP shop drawings, as-built drawings, and material submittals. Identify and resolve clashes between architectural, structural, and MEP services using coordination drawings.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary technical liaison between the project management team, MEP consultants, main contractors, and specialist MEP sub-contractors. Lead and document MEP coordination meetings.
• Quality & Compliance Inspection: Conduct regular site inspections to monitor the quality of MEP works, ensure compliance with local regulations (UBC, DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, etc.), and verify installations against approved materials and standards.
• Planning & Scheduling: Work closely with the project planner to develop and monitor MEP schedules, ensuring alignment with the main construction program and timely delivery of milestones.
• Problem Solving: Proactively identify potential technical issues, delays, or conflicts and propose effective solutions to keep the project on track.
• Testing & Commissioning: Oversee and witness all MEP testing, pre-commissioning, and final commissioning activities, ensuring seamless handover to the client.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Essential: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Mandatory: 6 to 8 years of proven experience in MEP coordination on mid to large-scale construction projects (high-rise buildings, residential complexes, hotels, or commercial towers).
• Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of all MEP systems (HVAC, Fire Protection, Plumbing, Electrical Power & Lighting, ELV systems, BMS).
• Software Proficiency: Strong skills in AutoCAD, Navisworks, or other BIM coordination tools. Proficiency in MS Project/Excel is required.
• Key Competencies: Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills. Strong problem-solving ability and a keen eye for detail.
• Major Advantage: Prior hands-on UAE/GCC construction experience and familiarity with local authorities' procedures and standards.
