QS & Cost Control Engineers are primarily responsible for overseeing and analyzing cost expenditures and projections within a project or organisation.
They utilize their expert knowledge of financial management and engineering principles to ensure projects stay within budget.
They have the following duties and responsibilities:
Analyse project requirements and prepare budget estimations
Monitor and track project costs to ensure they align with the project budget
Identify and report any potential cost overruns in a timely manner
Develop and implement cost-saving measures to maximize project profitability
Create financial reports and present them to senior management
Collaborate with project managers and other team members to optimise resource allocation
Evaluate and compare supplier and vendor contracts, bids, and proposals to ensure the most cost-effective options are selected
Use cost forecasting and monitoring tools to anticipate future expenditures
Ensure all cost-related activities comply with company policies and legal standards
