Install, inspect, and test HVAC systems (split units, ducted systems, package units, chillers, etc.).
Ensure proper alignment, refrigerant charging, and functional testing after installation.
Maintenance and Servicing
Perform regular preventive and corrective maintenance of air conditioning systems.
Clean and replace filters, coils, belts, fans, and other system components as needed.
Maintain proper refrigerant levels and ensure systems are energy efficient.
Troubleshooting and Repairs
Diagnose faults and troubleshoot HVAC system malfunctions.
Repair or replace defective parts such as compressors, motors, thermostats, sensors, and electrical wiring.
Use diagnostic tools and gauges for system assessment.
Ducting and Ventilation Work
Inspect and repair duct systems for leaks or obstructions.
Install and maintain air distribution systems ensuring proper airflow.
System Testing and Calibration
Check for system efficiency, temperature control, and airflow using meters and instruments.
Calibrate thermostats, control panels, and sensors for accurate system performance.
Record Keeping and Reporting
Maintain service logs and records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
Report major issues to supervisors and recommend necessary replacements or upgrades.
Safety and Compliance
Adhere to all health and safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
Use PPE and ensure safe working practices during maintenance or installation.
Coordination and Teamwork
Coordinate with other MEP technicians (electrical/plumbing) on multi-discipline tasks.
Provide support to other departments as required (especially during emergency breakdowns).
Inventory and Tools
Manage and maintain HVAC tools, materials, and spare parts inventory.
Ensure proper care and calibration of HVAC tools and instruments.
Client Interaction (if applicable)
Communicate with clients or building occupants regarding system status and updates.
Offer basic operational guidance for installed systems.
