Job in Baghdad- Iraq

Job Purpose:

To lead and oversee all operations related to the management of medical waste--including collection, segregation, transportation, treatment, and final disposal--ensuring full compliance with Iraqi environmental and health regulations, as well as international standards for infection control and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement policies and procedures for the safe handling of medical waste. Supervise daily operations related to the management of hazardous and non-hazardous medical waste. Coordinate with the Iraqi Ministry of Health, Ministry of Environment, and other regulatory bodies. Monitor the performance and safety of treatment equipment such as autoclaves and incinerators. Ensure proper segregation, labeling, and storage of waste at all points of generation. Oversee waste transportation activities and ensure adherence to safety protocols. Manage and evaluate contracts with external waste disposal service providers. Prepare and submit periodic reports and data to government entities and internal management. Conduct risk assessments and develop emergency response procedures for incidents related to waste handling. Lead and support continuous training for all team members handling medical waste. Monitor compliance with infection prevention and occupational safety standards. Analyze data and performance metrics to optimize operational efficiency and environmental compliance
