Our client is seeking an experienced Medical Transcriptionist who is responsible for transcribing dictated recordings from healthcare professionals into written reports, documents, and records. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent listening skills, and a thorough understanding of medical terminology.
Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe dictated recordings from healthcare professionals into written reports, documents, and records
- Edit and proofread transcriptions for accuracy and completeness
- Verify and correct medical terminology, diagnoses, and procedures
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Utilize transcription software and electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Meet productivity and quality standards for transcription services
Requirements and Skills
- Education: Post-secondary education in medical transcription or a related field
- Certifications: Certification in medical transcription (RMT, CMT, or RHDS) preferred
- Experience: Previous experience in medical transcription or a related field
- Skills:
- Strong command of medical terminology
- Excellent listening and typing skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and meet productivity standards
- Familiarity with transcription software and EHR systems
