Overview


We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional patient service and administrative support within a busy medical office.

This role requires strong organizational skills, familiarity with EMR/EHR systems, and a comprehensive understanding of medical terminology and billing procedures. Experience with various clinic management software is highly preferred. The Medical Receptionist will play a vital role in maintaining efficient office operations.

Responsibilities



Greet patients warmly and professionally at the front desk, managing multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette Schedule patient appointments using EMR/EHR systems Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification processes accurately Collect payments and perform medical billing tasks Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper filing of patient documents in accordance with health information management standards Assist with intake procedures, including patient registration and data entry using computer skills and typing proficiency Manage appointment reminders, rescheduling, and cancellations to optimize clinic flow Support clinical staff by coordinating care plans and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality during all administrative activities Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing office supplies to support smooth clinic operations

Experience



Previous experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is highly desirable Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems is preferred Familiarity with health information management standards and insurance verification processes Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and clerical experience in a busy office setting Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and data entry Office management or administrative experience in a healthcare setting will be considered an asset
