Roles and Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory tests, which includes various assays, following established procedures or protocols within stated TAT
• Operates and maintains the required laboratory equipment and instruments and records data.
• Uses Universal/Standard safety precautions to protect oneself and co-workers from biohazardous materials, including blood-borne pathogens.
• Complies with biohazard safety standards through proper handling of potentially hazardous chemical and biological agents in the workplace.
• Performs pretesting preparation of reagents, solutions and stains in accordance with work guidelines.
• Monitors inventory levels, informs senior technologist to order materials and supplies in accordance with established policies and procedures, counts orders upon receipt and documents signature.
• Is aware of policies, procedures and practices necessary to conduct the normal function of a specific section, unit, or work area

Qualification

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or clinical laboratory science or an equivalent qualification requiring not less than 3 years training course
• Health Authority – Abu Dhabi License as Medical technologist is proffered
• ASCP/AMT certification preferred
