Medical Coder
Job Location : Dubai, UAE
Key Responsibilities :

• Review patient medical records (e.g., charts, reports, and operative notes) to extract pertinent information for accurate coding.
• Assign appropriate ICD (International Classification of Diseases), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), and HCPCS (Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System) codes to diagnoses, procedures, and services.
• Ensure accurate coding based on established coding guidelines, payer policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and resolve coding discrepancies or inconsistencies through thorough chart review and communication with healthcare providers.
• Maintain current knowledge of coding updates, changes in regulations, and payer-specific guidelines.
• Utilize coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems effectively.
• Participate in coding audits and provide feedback for improvement.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Assist with other coding-related tasks as assigned.

Requirements :

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical coding.
• Proven experience in ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Knowledge of coding guidelines (e.g., Official Coding Guidelines, AHA Coding Clinic).
• Proficiency in using coding software and EHR systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant certification (e.g., Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)) is preferred.
