Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and certified

Medical Coder

to join our healthcare team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing clinical documentation and assigning accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to ensure proper billing and reimbursement from insurance companies and government health programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and analyze patient medical records and documentation to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses, procedures, and services. Assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes in compliance with UAE health authority guidelines (DHA, DOH). Ensure compliance with local insurance and payer requirements including eClaimLink or DHPO regulations. Submit claims to insurance companies and assist in resolving coding-related rejections or denials. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and billing teams to clarify diagnoses and ensure complete documentation. Maintain knowledge of coding guidelines and policy changes from DoH (Department of Health Abu Dhabi). Conduct periodic audits to ensure coding accuracy and documentation integrity. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical coding standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Diploma or Degree in Healthcare, Nursing, or related field.

Certified Professional Coder (CPC)

,

Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)

, or

AHIMA/AAPC certification

(Mandatory). Minimum 2-3 years of coding experience, preferably in a hospital or clinic in the UAE. Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and UAE-specific insurance coding regulations. Familiarity with Abu Dhabi's Department of Health (DoH) regulations and the

Malaffi system

is a plus. Excellent analytical and organizational skills. Proficient in medical software, eClaimLink, and Microsoft Office. Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Preferred:

Experience with

electronic medical record (EMR)

systems. Knowledge of DRG and inpatient/outpatient coding. Arabic language skills (advantage, but not mandatory).
