Job Description
TASK DESCRIPTION: The incumbent of this task will perform I-Level repair and fabrication of aircraft parts and components and perform "on-aircraft repair" as required.
TASK REQUIREMENT:
Perform repair to aircraft components and parts and fabricate parts when necessary. Perform manufacture/repair of aircraft parts, components, and assemblies as required. Repairs may be performed using tooling machines and/or welding. Manufacture support equipment items and control cables. Perform modifications of aircraft components. Support OJT and cross-training of KAF personnel.
MINIMUM PERSONNEL QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a minimum of four (4) years of aviation machinist experience at an I-Level or D-Level repair shop. Knowledge of corrosion identification and treatment. Knowledge of the operation of lathes and other machines used to fabricate metal parts. Satisfactory completion of a formal military or civilian school for his area of expertise. Basic understanding of nondestructive inspection methods. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. USAF, USN, USMC, Kuwaiti, Canadian, and Australian Air Force experience also applies to these tasks. No security clearance is required.
