Job Summary:
The Mechanical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment and systems. This role ensures that machinery and mechanical systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards. The technician works closely with engineers, operators, and other maintenance personnel to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
Key Responsibilities: * Equipment Maintenance & Repair:

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, including pumps, motors, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective repair solutions.
• Replace or repair defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Installation & Assembly:

• Assist in the installation, alignment, and commissioning of new mechanical equipment.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to ensure proper assembly.
• Troubleshooting & Diagnostics:

• Identify root causes of mechanical failures using diagnostic tools and techniques.
• Conduct tests and inspections to ensure equipment meets operational standards.
• Safety & Compliance:

• Follow safety protocols and adhere to OSHA (or local) regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
• Ensure all work complies with company policies and industry standards.
• Collaboration & Support:

• Work with engineers and production teams to improve equipment reliability.
• Train operators on basic mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Assist in the procurement of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
• Continuous Improvement:

• Recommend upgrades or modifications to enhance equipment performance.
• Participate in lean manufacturing or reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) initiatives.

• Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in mechanical engineering technology preferred.
• Vocational training or apprenticeship in mechanical systems is a plus.
• Experience:
• 2+ years of experience as a mechanical technician in manufacturing, industrial, or automotive settings.
• Familiarity with CNC machines, HVAC systems, or heavy machinery is advantageous.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems (gears, bearings, seals, lubrication).
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Basic welding/fabrication skills (optional but beneficial).
