Support the development and implementation of manufacturing plant policies, procedures and plans to achieve the company’s safety, reliability and production goals. Create reliable and repeatable processes for all injection molding (IM), injection blow molding (IBM), and extrusion manufacturing facilities. Maintain specific tooling/dies and setups for IM, IBM, and extrusion processes and serve across various IM, IBM, and extrusion production lines. Operate, maintain, and repair conversion plant ancillary systems (chilled water, air, and conveyance systems (that include compressors, pumps, exchangers, and filters). Provide equipment support through assistance with budgeting, purchasing specifications and dimensions, usage cost reduction, and processing.Experience: Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a position as a tooling, setup, and maintenance technician for IM, IBM or extruding manufacturing plant. And, at least 3 years of experience working on general fixed and rotating equipmentQualifications: Must have an Industrial technology certificate with a working knowledge of molding and extrusion theory and at least 5 years of hands on experience in: • Changing tooling/dies and making tooling repairs, • Process set-up of IM, IBM cells and extrusion lines, • Mechanical maintenance of IM, IBM, extrusion, chillers, air compressors and other fixed and rotating equipment. • PLC operation and maintenance • (Electrical certification/training is also beneficial) Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those encountered by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee must possess a full range of motion and may be required to stand, use his hands to stretch and reach, stoop, kneel, crawl, or climb. The employee must frequently move or lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift more than 50 pounds. Vision requirements include: close (near), distant, color, and peripheral vision, as well as good depth perception and the ability to focus. Training: Specific knowledge and experience of processing LLDPE, HDPE, LDPE for IM, IBM, and extrusion processes and products in manufacturing plants. Setup of extrusion machines, tooling, sizing equipment and ancillary equipment systems. Experience with plant safe work practices associated with maintenance and operation of IM, IBM, extrusion machines, chillers, air compressors, pumps and other related equipment. Specific training in bearing changes, belt installations, basic electrical circuits, Ohm’s Law, and multimeter operation. Skills: Should have mold and tool troubleshooting, cleaning and repair skills that include grinding, cutting, lubricating, and reconditioning. Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills in English. Proficient in MS-Office. Good interpersonal and mentoring skills; good organizational and multi-tasking skills. Good working knowledge of various engineering resins for IM, IBM, and extrusion processes a plus.
