Job Description

We are seeking a skilled

Mechanical Technician

to perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment in a

Sewage Treatment Plant (STP)

. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, blowers, and other rotating or static mechanical equipment used in wastewater treatment processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct daily mechanical inspection, maintenance, and repair of STP equipment and machinery. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults on equipment such as pumps, compressors, gearboxes, mixers, valves, and actuators. Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities in line with the maintenance schedule. Assist in installation and commissioning of new mechanical equipment. Maintain accurate records of maintenance work using CMMS or manual logs. Ensure mechanical safety procedures and company standards are strictly followed. Support shutdown maintenance and emergency repair operations as needed. Report equipment conditions and potential issues to supervisors promptly. Work collaboratively with electricians, instrumentation technicians, and plant operators.

Qualifications:

Diploma / ITI in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Minimum

3-5 years

of experience in maintenance work in

sewage/wastewater treatment plants or related industrial facilities

. Knowledge of mechanical maintenance of pumps, valves, pipelines, and rotating equipment. Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and alignment of rotating machinery. Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices.

Pay: QAR2,300.00 - QAR2,500.00 per month
