Job purpose
To perform all mechanical activities for OTTCO at Duqm Petrochemical terminal .
The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justification’s, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Preform all mechanical activities role in the Tank Terminal and the Duqm petrochemical Terminal.
Participate in Engineering, Procurement, Construction and commissioning and Operation phases of the Terminal
Establish, implement and supervise all pipeline maintenance activities involving block valve and emergency shutdown valve facilities, launcher and receiver facilities, cathodic protection facilities, pipeline pig run operations, inspection operations, as well as any pipeline purging and testing operations, ensuring operations run within design parameters.
Establish, implement and supervise all mechanical maintenance activities
Ensure that the operation of all mechanical equipment is within design parameters and that maintenance requirements are carried out as per vendor recommendations.
Troubleshoot and rectify mechanical related faults within a reasonable time frame to ensure the maximum availability of equipment.
Ensure all critical mechanical spare parts are identified, ordered and appropriately stocked in stores.
Demonstrate familiarity with pipeline repair methods and procedures.
Coordinate and supervise the work of sub-contractor personnel working.
Conduct regular inspections on pipelines and other mechanical equipment’s, preparing reports in accordance with inspection procedures.
Ensure public safety by maintaining the functionality and integrity of pipeline facilities and other facilities.
Coordinate and supervise the work of Mechanical Technicians and any sub-contracted personnel working on mechanical equipment associated with terminal facilities.
Assist in the preparation of maintenance budgets and review of contractor costing for all mechanical related maintenance work.
Prepare Permits to Work for all mechanical maintenance work and supervise sub-contractor activities to ensure adherence to the contract procedures.
Ensure all necessary forms and documentation are completed prior to, during and following maintenance activities.
Ensure that maintenance records, system drawings and maintenance databases are updated as necessary.
Resolve pipeline maintenance issues with sub-contractors.
Provide leadership, mentoring and training to Mechanical Technicians.
Implement and adhere to company quality and HSE programs, policies and practices related to mechanical maintenance activities.
Adherence to all statutory requirements pertaining to HSE, and the HSE standards and specifications of Terminal.
Implementation of all quality and HSE requirements under your area of jurisdiction.
Ensure compliance with mechanical engineering practices, standards and design codes including piping, pipelines, rotating equipment and static equipment.
Good understanding of the principles of mechanical engineering and their applications.
Compile information from contractor reports; evaluate and analyse compiled information using mechanical engineering standards and codes.
Attend and participate in all engineering reviews and meetings.
Coordinate, prepare and make recording of engineering reviews as assigned by the line manager
Attend workshops and site inspection of mechanical equipment as the plan permits.
Attend FAT and SAT of mechanical equipment as required.
Inspect project site to monitor HSE, progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and project standards.

Education requirements
Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Language requirements
Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required) , Arabic - Native (desirable)
Background and experience
Competencies and skills
A total of +8 years’ experience in maintenance of which a significant portion has been spent in maintenance Operations.
A good knowledge of relevant E&P operations, HSE requirements, Oil/Gas process & systems procedures and practices.
Thorough knowledge and proven skills in the maintenance of pumps, compressors, pipelines, vessels and other types of related static and rotating equipment.
Familiarity with budgeting, estimating and working with contracts and sub-contractors. .
Competent in engineering principles and basic calculations
Self-motivated and is required to have strong leadership skills.
Strong ability to mentor, train and build working relationships, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Good communicator and organizer
Dependable and demonstrating strong initiative.
Demonstrate a proven and positive attitude towards Quality Programs and Health, Safety & Environmental Management.
Demonstrated skills in computer software and hardware.
Proficient in computers, particularly Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Knowledge of office software applications and planning tools
Competent in computer applications for engineering
Know and manage own emotions, strengths, and weaknesses
Valid driving license
