Mechanical Sales Manager

Job Description

Lead the sales team to drive revenue and market share of mechanical equipment and solutions. Act as a strategic customer liaison--developing sales plans, nurturing relationships, coordinating technical proposals, and guiding the team to meet targets in sectors like oil & gas, power generation, construction, and industrial machinery.

Key Responsibilities



Sales Strategy & Business Development

Develop and execute sales plans for mechanical products (e.g. pumps, valves, turbines, boilers, mechanical seals, filtration systems, construction/heavy equipment) Research markets, competitors, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities .

Team Leadership & Coaching

Recruit, mentor, and evaluate a technical sales team or sales engineers . Set team targets, track performance, and support sales lifecycle (prospecting to closing)

Client Management & Relationship Building

Nurture strategic relationships with EPCs, O&M teams, major OEMs, end-users, and distributors Represent the company at trade shows, tender meetings, and technical presentations.

Technical Sales & Proposal Development

Lead technical-commercial proposals, scopes of work, and solution customization Work closely with internal technical and support teams to align offerings to client needs .

Contract Negotiations & Closing

Negotiate terms, pricing, and contractual conditions; ensure successful deal closure and oversee delivery/payment cycles Prepare sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and KPIs for senior management Monitor sales performance, analyze data, and adjust strategies accordingly .

Qualifications & Experience



Education

: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar field . An MBA may be an advantage

Experience

: 5-10 years in technical or industrial sales; at least 2-5 years in a managerial role Proven track record selling mechanical equipment (e.g., pumps, valves, heavy machinery, filtration systems, mechanical seals) Familiarity with major sectors like oil & gas, power plants, construction, and EPC markets, especially in UAE/GCC

Skills & Competencies



Strong technical knowledge of mechanical products and applications bayt.com. Proficient in CRM tools and technical sales software Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills . Ability to analyze market trends, forecasts, and create actionable insights . Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events .

Preferred Attributes



Experience with mechanical seals, filtration, rotating equipment sales is a plus . Industry certifications or technical training in mechanical systems or sales engineering. Fluency in English; Arabic or other regional languages would be an advantage .
