JOB OVERVIEW:
Mechanical Foreman will be the operational backbone of mechanical tasks on a construction site supervising teams, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, and maintaining safety and quality standards. This role requires a blend of hands-on technical know-how, strong interpersonal skills, and practical leadership.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Site Supervision & Team Leadership
Oversee mechanical technicians, fitters, and laborers to ensure daily tasks align with project layouts and standards.
Act as the on-the-ground liaison between site leadership and the workforce.
Interpretation & Execution of Technical Documentation
Read, interpret, and enforce mechanical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
Ensure proper implementation at every phase of work from first fix to commissioning.
Planning & Coordination
Allocate daily assignments and manage manpower to meet deadlines effectively.
Coordinate with other disciplines plumbing, electrical, civil to prevent conflicts and streamline execution.
Quality Assurance & Safety Compliance
Conduct frequent inspections to uphold workmanship quality and adherence to HSE standards.
Lead toolbox talks, site safety meetings, and ensure use of PPE and compliance with permit-to-work systems.
Troubleshooting & Technical Support
Identify technical issues, coordinate corrective actions, and ensure minimal disruption to workflow.
Ensure site tools and machinery are maintained and available for tasks.
Documentation & Reporting
Track labor hours, material use, and job progress; prepare reports for superiors.
Ensure work permits, timesheets, and other admin documents are completed accurately and promptly.
Mentorship & Workforce Development
Train junior technicians and assistants in technical operations, safety protocols, and company standards.
Support performance development and succession within the team.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Education
:
High school diploma with technical certification; trade diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
Experience
:
Typically 5+ years in mechanical supervision roles; 8-12 years preferred in oil & gas or complex construction projects and mechanical work for high rise building and all type for construction project, including external work also.
Skills
:
Proficient in reading construction drawings, method statements, and specifications.
Knowledge of safety systems (e.g. permit-to-work) and fitment techniques.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
Preferred
:
UAE driving license.
Familiarity with regional safety requirements and HSEQ frameworks.
