Job Description

We are seeking a skilled

Mechanical Estimator

with experience in

aluminum and facade systems

. This role involves preparing accurate cost estimates for mechanical components within facade projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring bids are competitive and aligned with client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare mechanical estimates for facade systems including brackets, support structures, operable elements, and integration with HVAC or shading systems Interpret and analyze architectural and mechanical drawings, specifications, and project scopes Work closely with engineering and design teams to ensure estimates reflect technical feasibility and design intent Solicit and evaluate quotations from vendors and subcontractors Develop detailed take-offs, labor estimates, and material cost breakdowns Identify value engineering opportunities to optimize project cost and performance Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, materials, and industry standards

Requirements:

3-5 years of experience in mechanical estimating, ideally with exposure to facade or aluminum system projects Strong understanding of facade mechanics, building envelope systems, and installation processes Proficient in estimating software and tools (e.g., Excel, Bluebeam, Revit, AutoCAD, PlanSwift) Ability to read and interpret both mechanical and architectural drawings Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field Familiarity with curtain wall, rainscreen, and custom metal cladding systems Knowledge of local building codes, performance standards, and LEED/sustainability practices
