Job Description

Job Purpose:

To prepare accurate, competitive, and compliant cost estimates for mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, piping, utilities, etc.) in support of project bids, tenders, and proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs (Bill of Quantities) to determine the scope of work and project requirements.

Prepare detailed cost estimates for HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, chilled water, gas, fuel, drainage, and utility systems.

Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate quotations for equipment, materials, and services.

Prepare and update unit rate analysis, material take-offs, and man-hour calculations.

Review and compare technical and commercial offers from vendors to select the most cost-effective solutions.

Assist in the preparation of technical submissions, pre-qualification documents, and value engineering proposals.

Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings or site visits to clarify requirements or assess site conditions.

Support project handover by transferring estimation knowledge to the execution team when awarded.

Maintain and update an internal cost database for mechanical items.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

Experience:

3-8 years in MEP/Mechanical estimation

Software Skills:

AutoCAD, MS Excel (advanced), ndy, Revit (optional)

Industry Knowledge:

HVAC, firefighting, plumbing, district cooling, chilled water, process piping, Data Centre

Analytical Skills:

Strong attention to detail, cost awareness, value engineering insight

Communication:

Ability to coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and clients effectively

Preferred Experience:

MEP estimation for commercial, industrial, data center, or infrastructure projects

Familiarity with ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, IPC, or equivalent codes

Knowledge of GCC market pricing

Pay: AED7,000.00 - AED15,000.00 per month
