JOB SUMMARY

:

The Mechanical Technician- performs a variety of general, mechanical and preventive maintenance as well as inspections, servicing and overhaul of equipment and facilities of the Hospital.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Uses hand tools, power tools and testing instruments to repair and maintain machinery equipment.
2. Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment's such as engines, motors, Generators systems, pumps, gearboxes and various types of rotating equipment.
3. Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to its sound to locate the cause of trouble.
4. Need to have knowledge in medical gas, kitchen and laundry, boilers

5. Monitors Medical gas network system and manifolds; reports to Maintenance Supervisor in case of any alarms or system malfunction.
6 Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
7 . Trouble shoots electrical, electronic (including analog and digital), pneumatic, and mechanical equipment and systems.

8. Performs operator and preventive maintenance, as specified by manufacturers, on equipment and systems including electrical, electronic, mechanical; varies PM interval as dictated by monitored failure rate.

9. Monitor all stores temperature & Humidity in all hospital facilities.

10. Prepare schedule for PPM for all kitchen & Laundry equipment.

4. QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SPECIAL SKILLS:

a. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

EXPERIENCE: 3 years' experience in a similar role in a health care setting. Needs to have medical gas experience, kitchen and laundry experience

OTHER SKILLS:
Technical: Demonstrates utility of instruments, tools and equipment in operating, troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing Hospital equipment and systems
Administrative Skills: Calm, Cooperative and Self-Motivated
Soft Skills: Fair Communication and Inter-personal skills.

? Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelors of Mechanical engineering.
