Mechanical Engineer
Position Title: Mechanical Engineer

Reports To: Chief Mechanical Engineer / Engineering Manager
1. Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, development, and improvement of complex mechanical systems and components. From concept to commissioning, you will apply principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, and material science to create efficient, reliable, and cost-effective solutions. You will play a key role in cross-functional projects, ensuring that all mechanical aspects meet stringent quality standards, regulatory requirements, and project specifications.
2. Key Responsibilities

• Design and Development:
• Conceptualize, design, and model mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, CATIA).
• Perform detailed engineering calculations to validate designs, including stress analysis, thermal analysis, fluid dynamics, and tolerance stack-ups.
• Create and review detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and Bill of Materials (BOMs), ensuring adherence to GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards.
• Select appropriate materials, coatings, and manufacturing processes for components based on application requirements.
• Analysis and Testing:
• Utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools to simulate and optimize product performance under various operating conditions.
• Develop and execute test plans (DV&PV - Design Verification & Product Validation) to verify design integrity, reliability, and durability.
• Analyze test data, interpret results, and generate comprehensive test reports to support design decisions and identify areas for improvement.
• Project Management and Collaboration:
• Manage specific aspects of mechanical engineering projects, including timeline development, resource allocation, and budget tracking.
• Collaborate closely with electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing personnel to ensure seamless system integration and design for manufacturability (DFM).
• Provide technical support to the production, quality assurance, and procurement teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Documentation and Compliance:
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including design specifications, technical reports, and manuals.
• Ensure all designs and processes comply with relevant industry standards, safety codes, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ASME, ANSI, ISO, OSHA).
• Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for product cost reduction, performance enhancement, and quality improvement.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues that arise during prototyping, manufacturing, or in the field.

3. Qualifications and Skills

• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred for senior roles.
• Experience:
• Proven experience (3+ years) in mechanical design and development, preferably in [e.g., automotive, aerospace, consumer goods, heavy machinery].
• Proficiency with 3D CAD and CAE software packages.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and data analysis.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of core mechanical engineering principles (statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics).
• Expertise in material science and selection.
• Proficiency in FEA and/or CFD analysis.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes (machining, welding, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication).
