About the Role:
Mott MacDonald is looking for a Materials Inspector to ensure that all materials used in the project are compliant with the project's specifications and approved by all relevant authorities.
Key responsibilities and duties
are listed, but not limited to, the below:
Review and approval of the contractor's proposed materials and methods as instructed by the Senior Resident Engineer.
General oversight of the contractor's daily activities including works assignments, on-site performance and guidance on the contractor's operations.
Attend and lead inspections on site as required
Follow up testing and approvals from the relevant authorities
Review of contractor's testing requests and following completed reports.
Review and approve the contractor's submissions
Monitor the performance of material delivery and accuracy of materials used on site
Coordination with contractor's supervisory personnel regarding schedule, sequence and method of work
Ensure and monitory compliance with the contractor's schedule
Continuous field inspections of the work in the progress; consultation with both the Resident Engineer's and Contractor's supervision staff
Preparation of reports to the Resident Engineer on contractual and procedural matters.
Candidate Specification:
Bachelors qualified with an engineering degree in a relevant discipline
Experience in large construction programmes and design-and-build contracts
Proven experience of working on large infrastructure and/or Landscape projects in the region
Good knowledge of local materials standards
Safeguard - To operate ethically and with integrity, while prioritizing safety and security in all that you do
Know how to prioritize, advocate focus and accountability
Use clear and frequent communications, drive execution and results.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
