Material Coordinator
Overview:
A Material Coordinator works closely with project managers, procurement, and the warehouse to ensure that the correct materials are available at the right place and time for projects or production. They focus on the flow of materials rather than just storage.
Key Responsibilities:

• Material Planning: Review project schedules and production plans to forecast material requirements.
• Coordination with Procurement: Liaise with the procurement team to ensure materials are ordered and delivered according to the project timeline.
• Expediting: Track the status of purchased materials and expedite orders with suppliers to prevent delays.
• Distribution: Coordinate the timely delivery of materials from the warehouse to specific job sites or production lines.
• Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels of critical materials to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Data Management: Maintain accurate records of material costs, consumption, and inventory levels in the system.
• Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve issues related to material shortages, surplus, or incorrect shipments.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field is often required.
• Experience in material planning, coordination, or a related supply chain role.
• Strong understanding of supply chain processes and inventory management principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating between different departments.
• Proficiency in MRP (Material Requirements Planning) or ERP systems.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
