Material Controller
Job Summary:
The Material Controller manages the physical receipt, storage, preservation, and issuance of all materials and equipment on the project site. They ensure materials are available when needed and are maintained in proper condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the receipt of all materials and equipment at the site warehouse, verifying against packing lists and purchase orders.
- Manage the site warehouse and laydown yards, ensuring secure and organized storage.
- Implement and maintain material preservation procedures to prevent damage or deterioration.
- Maintain accurate records of all material receipts, issues, and stock levels in the material management system.
- Coordinate with the construction team to issue materials as per the construction schedule.
- Perform regular stock checks and cycle counts.
- Report on material status, shortages, and surpluses.
- Manage the surplus and scrap material disposal process.
- Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in material control or warehouse management on a construction site.
- Experience with material tracking software and strong inventory management skills.
- Knowledge of material preservation techniques and warehouse safety.
